After several consecutive years of setting new sales records, most automakers are experiencing declining sales so far in 2019. However, this is certainly not the case for Mitsubishi.

In fact, Mitsubishi just celebrated its best sales month since March of 2004.

Mitsubishi’s Recent Sales Successes: Mitsubishi celebrates successful sales in 2018

At the end of March, Mitsubishi delivered 19,599 vehicles. By comparison, Mitsubishi delivered 14,319 vehicles back in March of 2018, accounting for a 36.9 percent sales increase.

Mitsubishi’s growing line of SUVs and crossovers have helped it to achieve this new record. Adding the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross to its lineup resulted in 3,143 vehicle sales last month.

Meanwhile, the Mitsubishi Outlander celebrated its best sales month ever in March. By the end of the monthly sales period, Mitsubishi sold 7,923 Outlander vehicles, a 65.4 percent sales increase compared to the 4,789 Outlander models it sold back in March of 2018.

Likewise, the smaller Outlander Sport celebrated its best March sales ever. Mitsubishi sold 5,309 Outlander Sport vehicles by the end of the March sales month.

Still, Mitsubishi’s only remaining passenger car, the Mirage, lost some sales momentum in March. Mirage sales were down to 2,880 units, a sales loss of 7.3 percent.

The Expanding Mitsubishi Lineup: Mitsubishi’s SUV lineup is going through a growth spurt

So far this year, Mitsubishi has delivered a total of 42,067 vehicles. By the end of the first quarter back in 2018, Mitsubishi had delivered 35,722 vehicles, meaning Mitsubishi’s 2019 sales are so far 17.6 percent higher than they were a year ago.
