What we know so far

The small plug-in hybrid electric SUV concept car seems like it will fit well with the other vehicles on the Mitsubishi lineup, like the popular Outlander PHEV. Mitsubishi hasn’t revealed specifics on the concept car, but the automaker did announce that the car will have all-wheel drive and electrification.

According to the Mitsubishi Motors Corporation, the concept is “An electric SUV that delivers unparalleled driving pleasure and confidence over all terrain in light and wind.”

The drivetrain will be a downsized and lighter plug-in hybrid EV. This will pair nicely to the electric 4WD system. As such, the car combines aspects of the PHEV, 4WD, and SUV.

Mitsubishi is promising a new driving experience with the electric SUV, which Mitsubishi attests can handle rough road conditions. Plus, the new car concept is set to have safety features that can help you drive with confidence.

When looking at the teaser image provided by Mitsubishi, only a small amount of information can be gathered. However, it looks as though the concept car features carbon fiber and a sloping greenhouse. Alongside the greenhouse are what appear to be speakers that are built into both roof pillars.

The image also shows a small portion of the powertrain lying beneath a glass panel. Based solely on the teaser image, it looks like the new SUV could have a stylish exterior.
