Mitsubishi’s March Sales Reflect Yet Another Increase
The Mitsubishi brand is back in action here in the United States, and has been for several months straight. In fact, according to Mitsubishi’s March sales report, the automaker has just experienced its 13th consecutive month of year-over-year sales increases.
In fact, sales were up 8.5% over March of 2014, with a total of 9,764 units sold in March of 2015. Sales for the entire first quarter are also up, at an even greater rate: 19.9% over the first quarter of 2014. This makes it the fifth quarter of double-digit sales increases for Mitsubishi.
The shining model for the brand was without a doubt the Outlander Sport five-passenger compact crossover. In total, Mitsubishi moved 3,226 unites here in the States. The fuel-efficient Mirage also experienced a successful March. At 2,488 units sold, March was the Mirage’s best month since its relaunch.
“March sales put an exclamation point on first quarter results for Mitsubishi Motors,” reported Don Swearingen, Executive Vice President Mitsubishi Motors North America. “Demand remains strong for our core models, and Mirage sales show that desire for affordable, economical and reliable transportation are still major purchasing motivators. And we expect Outlander to continue its healthy sales, strengthened by the upcoming debut of a new 2016 Outlander with over 100 improvements.”
