What is Ford to do when it’s already the first name in all things TRUUUUUUUCK? Well, based on the evidence, you just go right out there and make the TRUUUUUUUCKiest TRUUUUUUCK that ever TRUUUUUUCKed. Enter the 2020 Ford F-Series Super Duty, which gets two brand-new engines, a brand-new 10-speed automatic transmission, class-exclusive technologies, and best-ever towing and payload capabilities.

If only there were a word to encapsulate the 2020 F-Series Super Duty ever so neatly. Oh, wait. I’ve got one: TRUUUUUCK!

“Super Duty customers have demanding and diverse needs — from towing heavy trailers to repairing critical infrastructure,” said Kumar Galhotra, Ford president, North America. “Productivity is their lifeblood and their truck is their biggest tool. Our new Super Duty has more power, more payload and towing capability and better technology than ever to help these customers build a better world.”

Chief among the improvements with the 2020 F-Series Super Duty is the addition of an all-new 7.3-liter gasoline V8, which Ford expects to be the most powerful gas V8 in the segment. It joins the third-generation 6.7-liter Power Stroke diesel, which is improved for quieter and more efficient performance as well as more horsepower and torque. These new engines join the venerable 6.2-liter gas V8, and all three engines can be paired with an all-new 10-speed TorqShift automatic transmission with class-exclusive live-drive power takeoff and selectable drive modes.

Ford anticipates that the new Super Duty will deliver its highest conventional, gooseneck, and fifth-wheel towing and payload ratings ever, though specific figures will not be announced until closer to launch.

“With the addition of the 7.3-liter V8, upgrades to our 6.7-liter, and the debut of an all-new 10-speed transmission, we are delivering the strongest, most capable Super Duty powertrain offerings yet,” said Mike Pruitt, Ford Super Duty chief engineer.

Also making the 2020 Ford F-Series Super Duty quite super is class-exclusive Pro Trailer Backup Assist, which makes steering a trailer into a tight space as easy as turning a knob. All 2020 Super Duty trucks will also offer FordPass Connect Wi-Fi capabilities built in, and the interior of the high-end Limited has been refined to be even fancier with genuine leather, coarse black ash wood and brushed aluminum trim, and a Miko suede headliner.

The 2020 Ford F-Series Super Duty, which is going to just be so much TRUUUUUUUCK, will arrive in showrooms this fall.
