Ram 1500 EcoDiesel Named ‘Truck of the Year,’ Chrysler 200 Named ‘Car of the Year’
The Rocky Mountain Automotive Press (RMAP) recently gave Fiat Chrysler a fair bit of bragging rights; the automaker took home RMAP’s Car and Truck of the Year awards. The 2015 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel was named Truck of the Year while the 2015 Chrysler 200 was named Car of the Year.
This marks the ninth year running for the annual Rocky Mountain Vehicle of the Year Awards, which are intended to recognize all-new or significantly updated models for being at the top of their class. RMAP includes automotive journalists from the Rocky Mountain area, including Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming.
For the Truck of the Year award, RMAP took several attributes into account; these include fuel economy, performance, value, and vehicle features. After examining all competitors, the organization whittled it down to a top three, which also included the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado Heavy Duty and the GMC Canyon.
The committee from RMAP that nominated vehicles for Car of the Year operated similarly. The final three for this award also included the 2015 Audi A3/S3 and the Hyundai Genesis.
