BMW is accelerating the launch of its new i3 by opening order books earlier than planned, following stronger-than-expected customer interest. The automaker says demand for the electric sedan has already surpassed expectations set by previous models. Orders for the “1st Edition” version opened on June 18.
BMW’s new i3 electric sedan promises 440 miles of range, more than any Tesla on sale, with 400 kW charging and a starting price still unknown ahead of 2027 U.S. sales.
