WardsAuto Names 2019 Ram 1500 to its 10 Best User Experience List
Thanks to its bevy of driver assist technology and all-encompassing 12-inch customizable, vertical touch-screen display, the all-new 2019 Ram 1500 earned a spot on WardsAuto 10 Best User Experience List.
“It’s important that we pay tribute to the automakers that are focused on making it easy and enjoyable for consumers to interact with their vehicles,” WardsAuto Senior Content Director Drew Winter says. “Nobody wants to be frustrated by technologies that seem like a great idea in the lab but turn out to be annoying in the real world.”
According to WardsAuto managing editor Tom Murphy and associate editor Bob Gritzinger, to determine the top 10, the editors at WardsAuto reviewed a total of 25 vehicles, all of which sustained updates to their apps, display screens or interfaces; the vehicle’s overall value was taken into account, not the vehicle’s sticker price.
The evaluations took place during the editors’ every day driving in metro Detroit, where they used their personal phones to pair with each vehicle’s interface to obtain navigation details, access entertainment apps, and utilize voice commands to select radio station settings. The editors also took advantage of the driving assist technologies available in the vehicle, including blind spot detection, adaptive cruise control, and lane-centering systems, to test how well they worked in real driving situations.
“The all-new 2019 Ram 1500 was designed to be the most technologically advanced pickup ever and we are honored that WardsAuto has chosen the Ram 1500 for Ward’s 10 Best User Experience list,” said Jim Morrison, Head of Ram Brand, FCA — North America. “We are dedicated to keeping Ram truck customers connected, engaged and informed all while keeping their hands on the wheel and eyes on the road.”
The 2019 Ram 1500, along with the other winners, will be highlighted at the WardsAuto User Experience scheduled for Oct. 2, in Novi, Michigan, at the Suburban Showplace.
