2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Production Begins

Dodge has begun production of the Charger SRT Hellcat. Deliveries are expected soon.

The menacing Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat entered into production months ago and began shipping back in November of last year. Dodge even created this video to mark the occasion:

The Charger SRT Hellcat has always been one step behind, however: revealed a bit later, produced a bit later, and delivered a bit later. In fact, it was only last week that FCA began production of the 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat, and deliveries will stretch over the next few weeks and months.

When the Charger SRT Hellcat arrives on roadways, it will be the fastest and most powerful sedan in the world. The 6.2-liter HEMI Hellcat engine produces a whopping 707 horsepower (but if you didn’t know that by now, it’s probably time to sell that rock and move somewhere nicer). The engine outputs 650 lb-ft of torque, yet because of its TorqueFlite eight-speed transmission, the 2015 Charger Hellcat still manages an impressive 22 miles per gallon. The Charger SRT Hellcat’s quarter-mile time is just 11 seconds, and it can hit a top speed of 204 miles an hour, rocketing to 100 in less than 13 seconds.

The Hellcat has the bite and the bark. Or the scratch and the meow, rather.

Even if you don’t think you can handle all that power, you can still drive the Charger SRT Hellcat with the black key fob. Drivers will receive a black fob and a red fob, but it’s only the red key fob that unleashes the beast from hell completely, giving drivers access to every single unit of horsepower.

Be prepared to pay a gas-guzzler tax for this bad boy when it eventually does reach dealerships. Even with the tax, however, the Charger SRT Hellcat starts at just $63,995, which is way more than is in most of our bank accounts but which is actually pretty reasonable, given what you can pit the Hellcat against.

Look out for more updates on current 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat production and eventual deliveries in the coming weeks and months.
