The 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited is available with a new Cold Weather package. This optional package includes equipment like 17-inch BFGoodrich All-Terrain TA KO2 tires, all-weather floor mats, an engine coolant heater, heated seats, and remote start. In addition, the 2017 Wrangler Unlimited is available with new LED headlights and fog lights. If this doesn’t seem like many updates, that could be because a newer version of the Wrangler is expected to debut for the 2018 model year.

2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Performance

The 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited is motivated by a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine rated at 285 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque. To go along with this motor, customers have the choice of either a six-speed manual or five-speed automatic transmission. This powertrain helps the Wrangler Unlimited accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just over eight seconds, which isn’t terrible when you consider its curb weight of nearly 4,500 pounds. In addition, the four-wheel drive Wrangler Unlimited can tow up to 3,500 pounds. That’s nearly double the towing capacity of the two-door Wrangler.

Each 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited comes standard with electronic stability control, hill start assist, and advanced multistage airbags. Furthermore, this SUV’s safety is aided by features like on and off-road four-wheel antilock brakes, as well as high-strength steel pillars that are designed to help protect against impacts and other stress. However, unlike many 2017 model year vehicles, the Wrangler Unlimited does not offer a rearview camera or any advanced crash prevention technology. Moreover, when the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety performed crash tests on the Wrangler Unlimited, it received marginal ratings in the whiplash protection and side-impact examinations.
