2021 Cadillac XT4 Overview
As the entry-level SUV in Cadillac’s lineup, the 2021 XT4 is meant to deliver signature styling alongside a relatively affordable price tag. For the latest model year, this little SUV gained a new base trim level, dubbed the Luxury. This trim offers available leather upholstery and a standard power liftgate, and wireless smartphone connectivity.
The 2021 Cadillac XT4 is available at three trim levels: Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Sport.

Exterior
The 2021 XT4 offers signature Cadillac design alongside a wide variety of wheel options, even at the base trim level. You can also opt for add-ons like black molded splash guards and a black surround grille.
The Sport model lets you choose between two sets of Diamond Cut wheels: one in Titan Satin, and the other in Argent Metallic. Befitting of the trim’s name, it has a unique sport grille and black roof-mounted cross rails, which can serve as anchor points for tying down cargo carriers or adventure gear.
The Premium Luxury model offers both Pearl Nickel finish and Diamond Cut wheels. It sets itself apart with body-color, auto-dimming, power-folding heated outside mirrors with integrated turn signal indicators.
Both the Sport and Premium Luxury trims offer a hands-free power liftgate.
Interior
With five seats and 22.5 cubic feet behind the second row, the 2021 Cadillac XT4 provides an average amount of room for its class. With the rear seats folded down, it provides an adequate 48.9 cubic feet of room, along with cargo tie-downs to keep your gear from sliding about. For more practical storage enhancements, opt for the available cargo area organizer and cargo-bay liner.
Standard amenities include dual-zone automatic climate control, Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, as well as a trial subscription to SiriusXM with 360L, an on-demand streaming service that provides access to thousands of hours of radio content.
The upper trims offer more luxuries, including ambient interior lighting, heated rear outboard seats, heated and ventilated front seats, a wireless phone charging station, and a 13-speaker Bose Centerpoint surround sound system. For the rear-seat passengers, you can opt for a built-in DVD player to take the boredom out of long trips.
Powertrain and performance
All models of the XT4 come with a 2.0-liter Turbo four-cylinder engine that churns out 237 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. Paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission, it earns some respectable fuel mileage figures. Front-wheel-drive models earn an EPA-estimated 30 mpg on the highway, while all-wheel-drive models earn up to 29 mpg under equivalent driving conditions.
If you plan on taking your XT4 on adventures, the available Trailering Package adds a heavy-duty cooling system along with the necessary equipment to hook up a trailer. It even increases the XT4’s towing capacity to 3,500 pounds. While that’s not a groundbreaking amount of towing power, it’s enough to bring along a small boat or a lightweight trailer full of camping gear.
Safety
While the 2021 Cadillac XT4 isn’t packed to the gills with standard active safety equipment, it comes with a few conveniences to help prevent fender benders. These include Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian Braking, Forward Collision Alert, an HD Rear Vision Camera, and the Safety Alert Seat, which buzzes to help you stay aware of your surroundings.
Higher trims offer HD Surround Vision, Front and Rear Park Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, and a variety of tech tools to make changing lanes less stressful. Other available driver-assist options include Automatic Parking Assist with Braking, Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking, and Reverse Automatic Braking.
High-Tech Safety On the Go: OnStar services
The 2021 Cadillac XT4 starts at $35,695.
