California Can Now Order the 2016 Chevrolet Volt
California, come on down! Today, the land of avocadoes and eternal 70s became the first state to have the honor of ordering the all-new 2016 Chevrolet Volt. Dealers in California can now officially place their orders for the extended-range electric vehicle, which received a number of updates for the 2016 model year.
Opening up orders in California first was a no-brainer. By a large margin, residents of California are much more open to electrified technology than the rest of the country. But that doesn’t mean the rest of the country will miss the opportunity to get their hands on the 2016 Volt—they just will have to wait a little longer.
Chevy will next be rolling out orders for the new Chevy Volt on August 27th, but only to dealerships in states located mostly on the east coast (with one exception): Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
If your state isn’t on that list, then you’ll have to wait even longer. Dealers in the remaining states can begin ordering the 2016 Volt on October 1st.
The new Volt will carry a starting MSRP of $33,170 (plus destination), but with a number of federal and state rebates and incentives, drivers are more likely to ultimately pay something in the low to mid twenties.
