The all-new 2020 Kia Telluride promises to be a success at home given the early interest in the stylish eight-person SUV. It may also wind up being an international sensation, and it’s one step close to achieving that goal with the first exports leaving the Port of Brunswick this week.

The first Kia Telluride exports were loaded onto the ship Sirius at the Port of Brunswick on Tuesday with the intended final destination of the Arabian Peninsula. Kia plans to export 3,000 Telluride SUVs annually from the automaker’s plant in West Point, Georgia.

“The company’s decision to build the Telluride here in Georgia is a testament to the caliber of hardworking men and women at the company’s West Point, Georgia, plant,” said Georgia Governor Brian Kemp. “Having created more than 14,000 jobs for Georgians, Kia is an outstanding corporate citizen, and we commend them for their commitment to innovation, quality, and growth.”

The 2020 Kia Telluride is the largest Kia ever built and is powered by a meaty 291-horsepower 3.8-liter V6. It is also the most technologically advanced SUV in the lineup with new features offered as part of Kia Drive Wise Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems. Available Telluride-exclusive Kia Drive Wise technologies include Blind Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist Rear, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist, Lane Following Assist, Safe Exit Assist, Highway Driving Assist, Head-Up Display, Driver Talk, Quiet Mode, and Rear Occupant Alert. The Telluride is expected to go on sale later this year.
