[PHOTOS] Best-Selling Hyundai HB20 Hatchback Gets Brazilian Makeover
Meet the 2016 Hyundai HB20--a popular car you've probably never heard of
While we in the United States are only familiar with a handful of Hyundai’s models in the brand’s limited American lineup–saturated with sedans–the global market is privy to many models you’re probably never heard of–most of them also sedans.
The majority of of these models–like the Creta and the i20–target Europe and Asia, but one model that launched in 2012 was developed exclusively for Brazil. Over the past four years, this hatchback has become a best-seller in the South American market.
The HB20, which has produced over 500,000 units thus far, has received a new look for the 2016 model year. Set to go on sale in less than a month, the 2016 Hyundai HB20 hatchback is a compact model that emphasizes comfort.

The face of the redesigned Brazilian HB20 has been influenced by Fluid Sculpture, Hyundai’s current design philosophy. This translates into the signature hexagonal grille, new bumpers, and sleeker lights.
The 2016 HB20 not only receives a new appearance but improvements inside as well–from enhancements to the Kappa 1.0-liter/Gamma 1.6-liter engines to new features like blueAudio® and Apple’s CarPlay®. The brand has put effort into the infotainment system ensuring Brazilians are connected through a modern touchscreen interface and various apps.
The hatchback HB20 will be followed by sedan and crossover versions, with three trim levels: Comfort, Comfort Plus and Comfort Style.
