“This recognition validates our unrelenting efforts to deliver more value for our customers,” says Reid Bigland, Head of Ram Brand. “The new Ram 1500 has earned many accolades for its capability and design. It is immensely satisfying to have the IIHS recognize our truck for its compelling safety story.”

To qualify as an IIHS Top Safety Pick+ the Ram 1500 must be a 2020 model year or a 2019 model that bears a manufacturer date after May 2019. Specific systems including the driver assist technologies of Forward Collision Mitigation and Automatic Emergency Braking must be equipped in the model. Adaptive LED projector headlamps embedded with high-beam assist must also be present on the model to earn the Top Safety Pick+ rating.

The 2019 Ram 1500 has been recognized as the Official Luxury Truck of Texas, Official Truck of Texas, and the Full-size Pickup Truck of Texas by the Texas Auto Writers Association. It was rated as a Consumer Guide Best Buy Eight Years in a Row, and Motor Trend named the 2019 Ram 1500 as Truck Trend’s 2019 Pickup of the Year.

The 2020 Ram 1500 offers a new 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 rated at 480lb-ft of torque.
