2016 Kia Optima Ain’t Looking So Hot, After All
The first mildly disappointing photograph (above) of the 2016 Kia Optima has officially been released, in advance of the redesigned mid-size sedan’s April 1st debut at the 2015 New York Auto Show.
The new Optima isn’t unattractive by any means; it’s just a bit of a let-down, compared to the image we got from last week’s teaser sketch:
Maybe the angle they chose for the photo isn’t the most flattering, but this just doesn’t look nearly as cool. What happened to that ultra-narrow, concave grille? Are there still going to be those cool blue hexagonal lights in the front?
Don’t get us wrong, this isn’t an ugly car. It’s just that… the teaser sketch looked badass, while this actual picture seems kind of meh-ass.
Perhaps those original teaser sketches were meant to trick us, and the 2016 Kia Optima’s April 1st debut will really be an elaborate April Fool’s Day joke. We’ll just have to wait till next week to find out for sure.
