In case you missed it, 2019 was a stellar year for Kia as a whole, but more so for the brand-new Telluride SUV. The beastly Kia vehicle took home awards left and right throughout the year and capped off 2019 by winning the “Triple Crown” of prestigious automotive awards: NACTOY Utility Vehicle of the Year, Car and Driver 10Best, and MotorTrend SUV of the Year. But the momentum has continued into 2020, with the Telluride — and four additional Kia models — taking home awards in January.

U.S. News & World Report “Best Car for the Money” winners
At the Washington Auto Show last week, Kia received the most awards from U.S. News & World Report in four separate categories. “Winning one Best Car for the Money awards is a great honor,” said Michael Cole, president of Kia Motors America. “Winning four is fantastic. It’s Kia’s mission to provide consumers with desirable high-quality vehicles at the best value, and so this recognition from U.S. News & World Report is tremendously gratifying.”
- Forte: Best Compact Car
- Soul: Best Subcompact SUV
- Sorento: Best 3-Row SUV
- Sedona: Best Minivan
With the value and quality provided by these Kia vehicles, it was easy for U.S. News & World Report to recognize the brand. Last year, the Stinger was recognized in the Luxury Small Car category while the Soul has kept its crown in the Subcompact SUV category for the second year in a row.

ALG Design Innovation winner
In unsurprising news, the Kia Telluride was recognized yet again by a respected organization. ALG, a subsidiary of TrueCar, named the Telluride the winner of its Design Innovation Award for Overall Design and Execution. “With a sophisticated, yet rugged exterior design language on par with luxury utility vehicles, Telluride has commanded attention in one of the most crowded and competitive segments in the industry,” said Eric Lyman, ALG senior vice president. Since it debuted, the Telluride has compiled a long list of awards and this positive trend is looking to continue for 2020.
