Boy, if there was ever a time that we all needed some good news, now’s about right. Lincoln dropped a couple of new commercials promoting the 2020 Lincoln Corsair earlier this month, which for whatever reason flew completely under the radar. The focus of these new Lincoln Corsair commercials? Good news. Sweet, sweet good news.

2020 Lincoln Corsair — ‘Good News’

The good news in “Good News” is, unfortunately, limited entirely to the feedback Lincoln has gotten for its new crossover. We’ve got nice little snippets from the likes of Forbes, which calls the Corsair “a cocoon against the soundtrack of a big city,” an idea that seems to presume that you’ll burst forth a beautiful butterfly every time you exit the vehicle. There’s also a line from Cool Hunting, no relation to Cool Runnings, which reinforces the idea of the Corsair as a quiet sanctuary for the senses by saying it “pampers and performs,” which.

No mention of the 2020 Corsair being one of the Autotrader 10 Best Car Interiors Under $50,000, though. Not much room left after that cocoon metaphor, I suppose.

2020 Lincoln Corsair — ‘Night Shift’

The second spot, “Night Shift,” contrasts a musician making art in the studio with that same musician making music on the road — you guessed it — behind the wheel of the new Lincoln Corsair. No inspirational quotes here, but the commercial itself is vibrantly shot, featuring a color palette not dissimilar from the first ad Matthew McConaughey did for Lincoln way back when.

The footage here is the same as that used for a near-two-minute promo video posted to Lincoln’s YouTube channel back in October. Waste not, want not.
